Why would I want my students to be leaders?\u201d&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If this is your first reaction to the heading, then you might be missing out on the deeper meaning of the word &#8220;leader&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Leadership <\/strong>is often misunderstood as being bold, arrogant, self-centred or needy to be in the centre of attention. Actually, it\u2019s very far from the truth.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, who is a leader? And why would you want your child to become one?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-pale-pink-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\">A TRUE leader is someone who:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>is confident about who they really are because they know themselves,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>inspires others with his\/her gifts and talents because they recognise them,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is trusted because they can trust themselves,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>can express themselves to the world easily and effortlessly because they don\u2019t feel afraid to do this,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>celebrates other people for their talents and leads\/ inspires\/ listens\/ guides\/ people to share their gifts with the world,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>is ready to make a change to the world no matter how small or big,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>and leads a happy and fulfilling life that is true to their nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/boy-979673_640.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-343\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/boy-979673_640.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/boy-979673_640-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A True Leader is a highly evolved human being.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>So, as you can see a <strong>Leader<\/strong> is actually someone very positive and highly evolved as a human being. Why wouldn\u2019t we want to nurture our children\u2019s leadership mindset then? We all most certainly should if we really want to help our children reach their full potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center has-pale-pink-color has-text-color has-medium-font-size\"><strong>Here\u2019s a few ways how creative play nurtures the leadership mindset:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Creative play allows children to express themselves they way they like and prefer in the very moment.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Children can explore their inner gifts, talents and preferences, experiment with them and decide how they can make best use of them in the real world. \u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/how-to-introduce-holistic-entrepreneurial-education-in-4-simple-steps-for-teachers-and-parents\/\">Creative exploration<\/a> opens up the whole world of possibilities which children can flexibly test, reflect on and improve until they are satisfied with the final result.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>While creating children develops great confidence in their own skills and talents.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Creative play<\/a> allows plenty of space for celebration of children\u2019s own individuality.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"426\" src=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/girls-462072_640-copy.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-344\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/girls-462072_640-copy.jpg 640w, https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/girls-462072_640-copy-300x200.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A True Leader celebrates other people and inspires them to share their gifts with the world.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>To be honest with you, every play is creative when it\u2019s <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Child-Led.<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Children create all the time and creative play is not restricted to Arts &amp; Crafts only. It goes far beyond that. Construction is creative, discussion is creative, dancing is creative, gardening is creative, role-play is creative\u2026 <\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>To really nurture child\u2019s leadership mindset, any creative experience must always be <strong>Child-Led<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Otherwise the creativity aspect will most likely be controlled, restricted, and shaped towards a certain direction or agenda-driven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Child-Led means that a child is the author of the experience &#8211; they can take it wherever they want it and however they want it. <\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"800\" height=\"534\" src=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DSC_3488-copy-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-346\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DSC_3488-copy-1.jpg 800w, https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DSC_3488-copy-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.blog.naturalbornleaders.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/06\/DSC_3488-copy-1-768x513.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><\/a><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">A True Leader can express themselves easily because they are not afraid to do so.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>This also means that you as a parent\/educator are a facilitator of that <a href=\"https:\/\/preschool-naturalbornleaders.thinkific.com\/courses\/Active-Learning-Booster\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">experience<\/a>, offering child-friendly and safe space and access to tools and resources. But you don\u2019t impose any structure, any outcome, any result. You allow your child\/student to experience whatever they wish and need at that moment.
